If you love to eat and drink the Amana Colonies have the perfect event for you. The Amana Colonies present their Foodies Dream Festival — Take a Bite: A Three Day Food Festival from April 12th through April 14th.
The Amana Colonies, well known for their great food, wine and beer, will be celebrating both traditional Amana items and more international foods. Take a Bite is designed to reach all types of “foodies” with educational seminars, hands on cooking classes and demonstrations, food sampling, and special dinners to enjoy.
There will be seminars on food and wine pairings, the difference in beer styles, along with tasting the different types of chocolate and teas. The Cooking Classes include how to make great pasta sauces, bread and the art of dipping chocolates. Dinners include an Amana Communal Dinner, a special “colony meal” served in the only surviving Communal Kitchen, a 4 course Brewer’s Dinner, a 5 course Vintner’s Dinner and even High Tea.
It is fun for all types of “Foodies” with activities taking place at various locations in the Amana Colonies and plenty of samples.
Each of the 3 days will offer new and different activities to participate, learn, and indulge in. Don’t miss out of all the excitement and remember to bring your appetite!
