Corridor MPO to Host Open House on Upcoming Road, Trail, and Transit Projects

Transportation projects for the FFY20 – FFY23 Transportation Improvement Program will be on display and available for public comment

CEDAR RAPIDS – The Corridor Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) welcomes residents of Cedar Rapids, Ely Fairfax, Hiawatha, Palo, Robins, and the greater Linn County area to learn and provide input on upcoming transportation projects that are being proposed in the FFY20 – FFY23 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP).

The open house will be held at the NewBo City Market from 4:30pm to 6:30pm on Thursday, June 6th. The event is free and open to the public. At the open house, Corridor MPO staff will be available for public comment and questions. Community members are welcome to come and go as they please during the scheduled timeframe.

The Corridor MPO for the Cedar Rapids metropolitan area is responsible for the development of the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The projects are financed through federal transportation funds and selected by the MPO’s Policy Board to help expand and enhance the transportation network in the Cedar Rapids Region. The MPO is committed to expanding the transportation network of trails and transit, in addition to maintaining roadways. Some projects that have been selected for funding include, but are not limited to, Tower Terrace Road, Marion bus stop improvements, and a segment of the Highway 100 trail.
