Due to the alarming rise in COVID-19 positive cases, ongoing social distancing guidelines, and additional precautions taking place to help slow and reduce the spread of COVID-19, the Linn County Fair Association, has made the decision to not cancel, but instead hold the annual Kickoff event online.
“Our annual kickoff event is designed to get people excited for the next year’s fair and to raise funds for the coming year,” says Linn County Fair Board Co-Vice President Heidi Steffen. “This year, we will be doing it virtually with the same goals in mind. By stretching our annual auction over the typical annual shopping days, we are hoping people will consider our items when shopping for their loved ones gifts.”
Instead of one evening, the event will stretch over 10 days consisting of an online auction, family activities, and culminating with an event program. The auction is being held online through our partners at Hoge Auctioneering now through 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 2.
Linn County Fair Board Co-Vice President Jennifer Dunn states, “As we continue to navigate through this trying year, we want to thank the community, our sponsors, and our partners for continuing to support the Linn County Fair. 2020 has been difficult for everyone and we are grateful to be surrounded by a community that values the fair and wants to help ensure its success for years to come.”
