By October 16, 2019 No Comments

The Salvation Army in Iowa City is looking for volunteers for bell ringing at our 20 kettle locations during the 2019 Red Kettle Campaign. The bell ringing season begins on November 8 and continues through December 24 with the exception of Sundays and Thanksgiving Day. Volunteers may sign up at Service clubs, churches, schools, and businesses may also use the site to sign up and receive fundraising reports.

The Salvation Army is also accepting applications for paid bell ringers to be at sites not covered by volunteers. Application forms are available throughout the season, and at The Salvation Army on 1116 South Gilbert Court, Iowa City, during the 9 – 5 weekday office hours.

This year’s overall Christmas goal is $325,000 which represents about 65% of our annual budget. “The Red Kettle Campaign is our single biggest fundraiser,” said Captain Keith Graham, Corps Officer at the Iowa City Corps (Center). The donations also provide seasonal, Christmas, and year-round services to individuals and families in our community who have the greatest need.
