Postponed – A Bluegrass Night at the Opera House @ Coggon Opera House

In accordance with CDC recommendations, we are postponing the this performance. We are working with the performers to reschedule in the fall.

It’s going to be another great BLUEGRASS NIGHT at the Opera House! If you like great banjo playing, fiddle playing or just good bluegrass music, then you need to be at Coggon Opera House that evening. Banjoy headlines the show with Bob Black playing a wicked banjo. Also performing are The Great Bluegrass Herons, and Straightback Chair. This will be their third time to perform here.

General admission seating. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the door. Call (319) 435-2071 to reserve will call tickets.

Open Mic Night with the Artisan’s Sanctuary @ Cedar Rapids Downtown Library

Watch local musicians perform and network with those seasoned on the jamming circuit.

First Wednesdays at the library are Open Mic night in partnership with Artisan’s Sanctuary. Swing by the downtown library café to learn about other local musicians and, if you’re feeling brave, book a spot. Watch others play, share tips and tricks about the local music scene and learn more about other opportunities to play in the area.

Thou Art @ Grand Re Opening

After a devastating fire 3 years ago on Main Street in Anamosa, Thou Art Gallery will host a Grand ReOpening on Saturday, April 4th from 10AM to 8PM. Music by Billy Lee Janey and Skeeter Lewis, Muddy Rutts and a Celtic Duo. Kids will be able to be creative in the kids classroom. Thou Art will showcase more than 25 artists from Eastern Iowa. It has been a long journey and a true labor of love for this historic old bank building! Please come celebrate with us!

 

 

 

 

 

 

POSTPONED – ORCHESTRA IOWA MASTERWORKS V: MOZART’S REQUIEM @ Paramount Theatre

𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟭𝟳, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟬 – Mozart’s Requiem: Masterworks V, originally scheduled for April 4 at the Paramount Theatre, has been indefinitely postponed. We are working to determine a new date for this event and will communicate information if and when it becomes available. Ticket holders are in the process of being notified and should hold onto their original tickets as they will be valid for the new date.

Ticketing questions can be directed to the Orchestra Iowa ticket office. Please note, the ticket office is currently experiencing higher than normal call volumes, so patience is appreciated.

EMOTIONALLY STIRRING CHORAL MASTERPIECE!

Orchestra Iowa teams up with the Chamber Singers of Iowa City and acclaimed vocalists Jessica Pray Patel, Suzanne Lommler, Charles Blandy, and Kevin Deas, in a performance of Mozart’s final masterpiece, the Requiem. The April Masterworks concert also features a continuation of the 250th celebration of Beethoven with a performance of his sublime First Symphony.

The music of the late John Denver is like an old friend, outlasting trends and standing the test of time. Join acclaimed performer Jim Curry at the Coggon Opera House for this tribute to the music of one of the most beloved singer/songwriters ever to grace the stage.

Tribute artist Jim Curry, whose voice was heard in the CBS-TV movie Take Me Home: The John Denver Story, has performed Denver’s music in sold out shows throughout the country and has emerged as today’s top performer of Denver’s vast legacy of multi-platinum hits. Jim’s uncanny ability to mirror John’s voice and clean-cut look takes you back to the time when “Rocky Mountain High,” “Sunshine,” “Calypso,” and “Annie’s Song” topped the charts, and his popular music had the heartfelt message of caring for the earth and caring for each other.
