The Diva is Back! In 2018, Christine Bellomy brought her clarinet magic to the Red Cedar stage with A Little Klezmer Among Friends. The audience response was clear: MORE CHRISTINE! The Red Cedar Trio presents jazz favorites by Gershwin, Reinhardt/Grappelli, and Brubeck (arranged by local jazz legend Steve Shanley), along-side Iowa Moods, a newly composed set of jazz variations on the “Iowa Corn Song” by Michael Kimber, Red Cedar’s composer-in-residence. The program also includes Concerto a Tre by jazz-era composer Ingolf Dahl, a complex and groovy work inspired by Benny Goodman.
Special thanks to Artist Sponsors Juanita Dennert and ImOn Communications.
Sponsored by Mount Vernon Bank & Trust, the National Endowment for the Arts, and both the Linn County Fund and the Program Grant Fund of the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation.
