The Cedar Rapids Museum of Art announces a Call for Entries for upcoming exhibition, “Into the Blue,” June 8 – September 15, 2019.
In celebration of Iowa artists, the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art announces a call for entries of artworks for the exhibition Into the Blue. The color of endless skies and the Virgin’s cloak, the Roman color of mourning and Yves Klein’s vibrant muse, blue has been inspiring artists for thousands of years. The submitted artworks may be any manner from representational to abstract but blue must be the dominant color. The origin of this exhibition was a desire on the CRMA’s part to continue its successful series of presentations of Iowa artists, integrating group and solo exhibitions of Iowa artists into the exhibition schedule and into its presentations of American art.
Artists interested in participating must be 18 years or older, residing in Iowa, and working in any discipline (painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, ceramics, textiles, mixed media, video, jewelry, digital art, etc.). All work must be ready to hang and must have been created in the past three years. To enter, send no more than three images to juror and Associate Curator of Collections and Exhibitions Kate Kunau via email at email@example.com by Friday, March 1, 2019. Include work specifications (title, date, dimensions, framed dimensions, media). In addition to the images, please include a resume and explanation of how the artworks relate to the theme. The names of all accepted artists will be posted on our website by Monday, April, 1, 2019. Complete details regarding the call for entries can be found at: http://www.crma.org/Exhibition/Detail/Upcoming/Into-the-Blue-Iowa-Artists-Juried.aspx
