|ICCA’s Celebration of the Arts to Recognize Collaboration Among Arts Organizations|
The Iowa Cultural Corridor Alliance (ICCA) will present its second annual Celebration of the Arts on Monday, November 12, from 5-7 p.m. at the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts. Celebration of the Arts is ICCA’s annual meeting event, intended to elevate the awareness of the artistic and cultural organizations in the Corridor and to celebrate the outstanding collaborations of ICCA partners.
The program will feature performances by ICCA partner organizations each celebrating a special milestone anniversary in 2012, including: The Englert Theatre, Orchestra Iowa and Prairie Voices Productions. Reception entertainment will be provided by ICCA partner Tom Nothnagle.
Partner organizations nominate themselves for the Collaborative and Reaching Out honors and the ICCA partnership votes on the ballot. The organization who receives the highest number of votes receives the honor and a Celebration of the Arts statue, crafted by local artist Tom Newport. The winners will be announced during the event.
Additionally Larry Eckholt Award and Cultural Advocate Award honors will be given out to community members who have exemplified passion, commitment, and advocacy to the cultural vitality of the Corridor. The 2012 recipients are Kent Smith, Larry Eckholt Award; and Denny Redmond, Cultural Advocate Award.
The ICCA Celebration of the Arts is open to the community. Admission is $15 at the door. To attend, please RSVP to Jessica Johnson at: Jessica@culturalcorridor.org or 319.849.8ART (8278).
Celebration of the Arts is sponsored by Alliant Energy. Additional support for the program is provided by Hills Bank and Trust Company and the University of Iowa Community Credit Union.
