Make new furry friends as you improve your reading skills! Trained, certified therapy dogs provide comfortable companionship to emerging readers as they earn a free library book and bookmark. Everyone welcome to read to the dogs.Then stay as the pups perform at 7 p.m.!

Wee Read @ Coralville Public Library - Storytime Room

School’s Out! Make a sled @ Downtown Library - Cedar Rapids

With some cardboard, duct tape and a garbage bag you can make a great, zippy sled for the season. All supplies will be provided.

Full Moon Owl Hike @ Wickiup Hill Learning Center

“Who cooks for you?” asks the barred owl.  We will learn about owls in Iowa from the warmth of the classroom initially and participants will build owl calls to take home after the event.  We will then head out onto the trails to talk to the owls and attempt to call one in.  Cost is $5/adult, $2/child 16 and under, or $10/family with one owl call. Additional owl calls $5 each. REGISTRATION DEADLINE: January 15.  Call Chuck at 892-6485.
