Terra Nova: Ten Years

November 3, 2018 – October 6, 2019

The CRMA celebrates ten years of collaborating with the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio. In 2009, the CRMA began meeting with artists who had completed residencies at the Ceramics Center and acquiring a piece of their work—often completed during their residency—for the Museum’s collection. This mutually beneficial arrangement allowed the artists to establish themselves in a museum collection and receive professional experience with curators while growing the CRMA’s collection of three-dimensional art. The exhibition will display artwork from every resident from 2009 to 2018 and both executive directors, a testament to the fruitfulness of this collaboration.

Please see our website for hours and holiday closings.

Free Community Meal @ Coralville Public Library
Jun 21 @ 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Food = Community

All are invited to come out to the Coralville Public Library on Friday, June 21 from 5:00-7:00pm to share a free meal and fun evening together. The Coralville Community Food Pantry and its team of community volunteers will be grilling for carnivores and vegetarians alike, and service locally-sourced sides. Bring family, friends, neighbors, and a blanket or lawn chair.

Menu:
Grilled burgers and hot dogs (vegan, kosher, halal available)
Side salads ft. fresh local produce
Baked beans
Chips
Fresh fruit
Cookies

The evening includes family-friendly activities, including live music in celebration of Make Music Day.  The Coralville Fire Department will visit with a fire truck and lawn activities for kids.  Take home a children’s book and activity about fire safety, or participate in a hands-on activity to make literacy kits for children in our community.

In case of inclement weather, all activities will take place inside the library.

We’ll need lots of helping hands to make this possible, as we’re anticipating a crowd of 750+. Click the link below to sign up for a volunteer shift:

The History Center is putting the “fun” in funeral as Kate Minette lives through her own mocking (but loving!) eulogy – written and performed by the always hysterical Adam Witte, Dave Martino, and other special guests. We are confident the only tears shed will be tears of laughter!

Passport to the Parks – Cherokee Park @ Cherokee Park
Jun 24 @ 10:00 am – 11:00 am

This week we’re talking about the importance of soil health and why it’s so important for growing, well anything!

Every Monday starting June 10th through July 29th we’ll be at a different park in the city. This year we’re partnering with Linn County Education Outreach and we’ll be learning something new about agriculture- from how things grow to how we can make a positive impact on the environment. This program will be geared towards Pre-k- elementary aged kids. Attend more than five and earn an Ag Brag Certificate. We’ll also be connecting each site to the closest community garden/urban farm to give families the opportunity to learn about food production in their neighborhoods and how to get more involved in their own food production.

We always recommend confirming details before attending. We hope to see you there!
