Show Descriptions
4.48 Psychosis by Sarah Kane (tentative dates Nov. 8, 9, 15, & 16)
A powerful, haunting and beautiful piece about mental health and suicide. Stark and moving, the play serves as a subjective interpretation of clinical depression (a condition with which the playwright was intimately familiar.) The script is unconventional in that it has no explicit setting, characters or stage directions; its experimental structure allows the director and performers a great deal of interpretive and creative leeway, as the ensemble finds their own unique, personal version of the author’s text.

Cowboy Mouth by Sam Shepard and Patti Smith (tentative dates March 20, 21, 27 & 28)
A play about two lovers’ fixation on becoming and creating musical legends, even as they are forced to reckon with their own individual difficulties and the challenge of their relationship.

Hatchet Lady by Savannah Reich (tentative dates March 20, 21, 27 & 28)
A punk rock musical about radical temperance activist Carrie Nation and the messy path to real change. (It’s also about the desire to watch women break things and burn it all down.)

The Revolutionists: A Comedy, a Quartet, a Revolutionary Dream Fugue, A True Story by Lauren Gunderson (tentative dates April 17, 18, 24 & 25)
Heads will roll in this comedy featuring four bad-assed, beautiful women living through, fighting against and writing a play about the French Revolution. Olympe de Gouges, Charlotte Corday, Marie Antoinette, and Marianne Angelle will show us something about fighting back against extremism.
