Dreamwell Theatre

To round out our current season, we will be producing Michael Frayn's Tony-winning play, Copenhagen, which is a compelling examination of both the relationship between science and politics and the very nature of truth itself. The play will be directed by Madonna Smith. Performances will be May 12, 13, 19 and 20 at 7:30pm, and will be held at Public Space One (120 North Dubuque St., In the basement of the Wesley Center).

Tickets are $13 regular and $10 for students and seniors. On Saturday, May 13 we will have Pay What You Can Night, where we encourage you to come see the show and pay what you are able.

Synopsis:
In 1941, German physicist Werner Heisenberg went to Copenhagen to see his Danish counterpart, Niels Bohr. Together they had revolutionized atomic science in the 1920s, but now they were on opposite sides of a world war. In this incisive drama by the prominent British playwright which premiered at the Royal National Theatre in London and opened to rave reviews on Broadway (ultimately winning the 2000 Tony Award for Best Play), the two men meet in a situation fraught with danger in hopes of discovering why we do what we do.
