LitFlicks is a film series for adults showing movies adapted from books.  In January the Library will be showing the movie The Shawshank Redemption based on the story Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption.

LitFlicks is a film series for adults showing movies adapted from books. On March 21 the Library is showing the movie 1984 based on the book of the same title by George Orwell.

Although George Orwell’s novel was first published in 1949, and even though the year 1984 has come and gone, Orwell’s prophetic, dystopian vision of the future seems timelier than ever.

This film adaptation stars John Hurt and Richard Burton, and is a faithful adaptation of the original novel. Remember: Big Brother is watching!

The movie is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes long. Refreshments including fresh popcorn will be provided.

Discuss the book before watching the movie! Join Novel Conversations, March 16 at 7:00 pm, for a discussion of George Orwell's 1984.
