  Bluegrass Music Show

Sunday, March 12, 2017; 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Coggon Opera House

Chuck Lahr and the Purdy River Band are bringing their Bluegrass Music Show to the Coggon Opera House. They perform primarily original music, written by Lahr, in the traditional and contemporary style of bluegrass, along with classic standards, instrumentals, and gospel. Their music has been described as a “smooth easy satisfying style, attractive not only to bluegrass fans, but to anyone who has never heard bluegrass before.”

Led by Manchester, Iowa guitarist and lead vocalist Chuck Lahr, the band is made-up of outstanding musicians with Dave Anderson on banjo/harmony vocals and Beth Anderson on upright bass. Dave and Beth are a married couple and reside in Preston, MN. The fourth and newest member of the group is Brian Elzey on mandolin/harmony vocals. Brian lives in Independence, IA. The members of the band are diverse in their musical talents and come together with many years of experience.
